New Routes from Charlotte

Starting December 5, American Airlines will expand its daily service from Charlotte, North Carolina, to several enticing destinations: Belize, Curaçao, Puerto Plata, and St. Croix. This move is designed to cater to the growing number of travelers from the Southeastern United States looking for direct flights to these popular Caribbean spots.

Belize, with its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty, has become an increasingly popular destination for American tourists. Curaçao, known for its vibrant coral reefs and colorful architecture, offers a unique Caribbean experience. Puerto Plata, with its beautiful beaches and historical sites, and St. Croix, a gem of the U.S. Virgin Islands, are also expected to draw significant interest from travelers.

Increased Frequency to Popular Destinations

In addition to new routes, American Airlines is increasing the frequency of its flights to some of the most sought-after destinations in the Caribbean. Flights to Montego Bay, San Juan, and Punta Cana will be increased to four daily flights. This increase will make it easier for travelers to find convenient flight options to these destinations, whether for a short getaway or an extended vacation.

Montego Bay, known for its stunning beaches, resorts, and vibrant culture, continues to be a top choice for American travelers. San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, offers a rich blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Punta Cana, famous for its all-inclusive resorts and beautiful coastline, remains a favorite destination for those seeking a tropical paradise.

Enhanced Service from Miami

Miami, a major hub for American Airlines, will see an increase in flight frequency to several key destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America. Flights from Miami to Trinidad, Santiago in the Dominican Republic, and Tortola will now operate twice daily. This enhancement is aimed at providing more options for travelers departing from Miami, one of the busiest gateways to Latin America and the Caribbean.

Trinidad, with its lively culture and diverse attractions, offers a unique Caribbean experience. Santiago, the cultural heart of the Dominican Republic, provides visitors with a rich history and vibrant local life. Tortola, the largest of the British Virgin Islands, is known for its stunning landscapes and pristine beaches, making it a perfect destination for relaxation and adventure.

Meeting Growing Demand

The expansion of American Airlines’ winter service is a direct response to the growing demand for travel to the Caribbean and Latin America. As more Americans seek to escape the cold and enjoy the warmth and beauty of these regions, the airline is strategically increasing its capacity and frequency to meet their needs.

The increase in seat capacity by 10 percent compared to the previous winter season is a significant step in ensuring that more travelers can find seats on flights to their preferred destinations. This expansion not only benefits leisure travelers but also supports business travel and strengthens cultural and economic ties between the United States and these regions.
