American Airlines had a big shopping spree
American Airlines has ordered 85 Airbus A321neos and 85 Boeing 737-10s (MAX 10), and has also converted its existing order of 30 planes to the maximum-capacity version of the MAX, and is also buying 90 E175s.
According to the American manufacturer, the airline ordered 115 copies of the version of the 737 MAX family with the largest capacity, but with a shorter range. As part of the agreement, American Airlines obtained purchase options for an additional 75 737-10s. American Airlines took delivery of the first A321neo in February 2019, and by January 31 this year, 70 copies were added to its fleet.
The airline also placed an order with Embraer for 90 E175s capable of carrying 76 passengers, with two-class on-board equipment, and acquired the right to purchase another 43 copies.
These machines will be included in the fleet of regional companies operating the application network.
Starting in 2025, the airline said it will renew and re-deck its existing A319 and A320 fleet, increasing the number of domestic first-class seats on each aircraft in response to growing demands for a premium travel experience.
