Chiefs’ path back to the Super Bowl just got easier after the Bills’ disasters in preseason
There is no question that the Kansas City Chiefs are still the team to beat in the AFC. It does not matter if Joe Burrow is healthy or if Aaron Rodgers is back in New York, the fact that Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are still leading the Super Bowl-winning team, makes them the number one candidate to return.
The road back to winning another Vince Lombardi trophy just got easier after the Buffalo Bills announced injuries to some star players that they will miss during the season, especially after the trade that sent wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans
One of their defensive stalwarts, Matt Milano, is at risk of missing the entire season due to injury as the team announced Thursday that he suffered a torn biceps and will be out indefinitely. If he has problems throughout the year, it will hard to believe that he will have an impact in a potential game against Mahomes an company in the playoffs, that is if they reach them.
The teams will face late in the year
While there is a scheduled game late in November between Chiefs and Bills, there is no reason to believe that the team from the East will be on the top of their game after plenty of problems during the offseason.
The Bills also announced they have placed wide receiver Chase Claypool on the Injured Reserve list and then released him. These key players have been scratched off at least for a great part of the season in some cases and permanently in other, that means that Kansas City could have their way with the conference once again.
Buffalo also announced they’ve placed quarterback Shane Buechele on Injured Reserve while signing QB Ben DiNucci and WRs Damiere Byrd and Deon Cain to one-year deals, but that does not feel like it will be enough.
